Psychology man. Specifically economic psychology, or commercial psychology. Even more specific, the design of parking lots for supermarkets and grocery stores. There's people out there that went to a college and got a degree or two or three in psychology and think about these things, and get paid to do so. The aftermath of becoming a baccalaureate in psychology was always some-what vague to me. I bet these huge branding corporations have teams of psychology, damn teams of them, that analyze and brainstorm about the psyches of their consumers and how to increase profits. And the more refined the science becomes, the more subtle the changes are.
